The military continues to use Nohili, Kauai as a missile launch facility. The tests have accelerated with the Army THAAD and Navy AEGIS missile testing.

March 21, 2010.

This is an interesting web site.

I got here through a Google search after seeing a reference on Craigslist to the Pacific Missile Range, which I had not realized is in Kauai, HI.

I asked Google, "are there any missiles in the Pacific Missile Range in Kauai, HI?

I was wondering if they merely did radar tracking on missiles sent from somewhere else, or whether they actually had missiles housed there and capable of being launched from Kauai.

This story from 1997 is what I got. At first I didn't notice the date and I
thought the story was something recent. Surely there have been a lot
of changes since then.

I can understand that there is some conceivable benefit from having the internet keep an original record of events as they appeared at a
time long ago, but why must the usually sensible Google search
engine bring up stories this old on the very first page of 7,280 results???
Why can't Google prioritize its results by latest date, or at least
give the user the option of getting the most recent results first?

You may say I should ask Google these questions, but I'm sure they would pay much more attention to questions asked by a web site such as yours.

I tried signing up for updates, but I'm not sure whether it went through.
Another thing I don't understand is why those deterrents to spam must
be so unreadable to human beings, not just to computers. I often can't figure out what the letters are --especially since they're so close together --
and I guess I kept getting them wrong since every time I tried sending
in my guess, it came up with another one to try.
