Save UH / Stop UARC
The Save UH / Stop UARC coalition led the campaign to resist the establishment of a Navy-sponsored University Affiliated Resarch Center (UARC) at the University of Hawai’i (UH). On April 28, 2005, the coalition took over President David McClain’s office to demand that he terminate the UARC. The occupation lasted a week and garnered international media coverage and support for the struggle. Here’s a link to the blog of the occupation: http://stopuarc.livejournal.com/2005/04/28/
