The residents are fighting against the expansion of the helicopter activities, including the stationing of Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft.\u00a0 They have been encamped outside the military site for several years to block construction.<\/p>\n<p>The Marines have proposed to bring Osprey and other helicopters to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii &#8211; Kaneohe Bay and to train with these aircraft at Pohakuloa, Waimanalo, Kahuku, and numerous other sites in the islands.
