{"id":3556,"date":"2008-10-24T20:10:57","date_gmt":"2008-10-25T04:40:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dmzhawaii.org\/?p=3556"},"modified":"2009-08-27T20:20:46","modified_gmt":"2009-08-28T04:50:46","slug":"marine-truck-crossed-center-line-in-fatal-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dmzhawaii.org\/?p=3556","title":{"rendered":"Marine truck crossed center line in fatal accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KITV.com<\/p>\n<h2>Woman Killed In Hauula Crash<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Victim Was Passenger In Head-On Collision With Marine Truck<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>October 24, 2008<\/p>\n<p>PUNALUU, Hawaii &#8212; Traffic investigators are looking into what caused a deadly crash in Hauula Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The head-on crash between a minivan and a military transport truck happened near the corner of Kamehameha Highway and Puhuli Street at about 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A woman in her 50s was pronounced dead at the scene, an Emergency Medical Services spokesman said. She was a passenger in one of the vehicles, EMS spokesman Bryan Cheplic said.<\/p>\n<p>The Marines&#8217; vehicle crossed the centerline, Honolulu police said.<\/p>\n<p>Two other people were treated at the scene and released, Cheplic said.<\/p>\n<p>Police closed Kamehameha Highway in both directions at the scene while the Honolulu Police Department&#8217;s Traffic Division investigated the crash.
