Hoppe-Cruz (MSW\/MA Pacific Islands Studies Candidate) &amp; Kisha Borja-Kicho`cho` (MA Pacific Island Studies Candidate).\u00a0 Both women are Chamoru and were born and raised on the island of Gu<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,serif;\">\u00e5<\/span><\/span>han (Guam).<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHERE:<\/strong> University of Hawai`<span>i<\/span> at M<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u0101<\/span><\/span>noa, Campus Center, Executive Dining Room<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHEN:<\/strong> Friday, February, 12, 2010<\/p>\n<p><strong>TIME:<\/strong> 5:15-8:00pm<\/p>\n<div>We\u00a0will be reading pieces\u00a0we have collaborated on as well as our own individual poetry.\u00a0 Much of\u00a0our work centers on the impact U.S. militarization and colonialism have had on our home island community of Gu<span style=\"font-family: times new roman,serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00e5han<\/span><\/span> <\/span>and the other Micronesian islands, much of which is manifest in social, economic, and environmental injustice. Our work also focuses on Chamoru culture and identity.
